Melody and Rosie were surprised to see that Donna was no longer wearing a wig to cover up her very short hair. And she no longer dyed her red hair black. When they asked Donna about it, she replied, "It's who I am."
She tells Princesses Rosie and Melody that weapon prices are going up in Helmsley because Geshites are buying most of the weapons and her father the baron asked if the king could lower prices.
The princesses tell their father, the king and he asks his advisors if they should set a limit and not allow Geshites to purchase weapons. The economic advisor warns against that, saying a black market would spring up and that it would become difficult to buy any weapons at all.
The king's general, also present, asks, "isn't your mother a Geshite? You want the Geshites armed so they can wage war on us!" The king agrees and has the economic advisor thrown in prison.
The king issues a proclamation that the price of weapons and armor shall be capped at their price from 1 month ago, and that it is a crime to sell such items to Geshites.
The princesses wonder why the Geshites are buying all the weapons. They ask their father if they could go to Helmsly to investigate. The king says yes, so the next morning, the princesses, Donna, and Donna's bodyguard, Sir Petru leave Alitburg for Helmsley. On their way out of the capitol, they see a long line of people waiting to buy weapons.
During the three day trip to Helmsley, the princesses try to disguise themselves by using Rosie's "Comb of Many Styles". Rosie chose long blonde hair, and Melody got a random style: a mohawk!
When they arrive in Helmsley, they encounter another line, outside Kirg's father's armor shop.
They go to Tapria's tapestry shop and ask her what is going on and why Geshites are buying so many weapons. Tapria says she doesn't know, but they should go to the Happy Horse to find out.
The party goes over to the Happy Horse. They see a line of men near a curtain. The men have weapons. Suddenly, a man came out from the curtains, with no weapons.
They see a bartender, and Princess Melody asks what is going on. The bartender looks scared and looks like he's hiding something. He try's to bluff and talks very loud, but doesn't succeed. The group knows that something is fishy.
The line of men go away. Princess Melody wonders what is in the curtains. The curtains led to a room with a table that had weapons laid on it. They see a window and look closely. There was a piece of red cloth that looked like it was torn off. Princess Melody then looks inside the curtains.
She hears a cough. Princess Rosie tells her to go deeper in. She looks deeper, but no one was there. She comes back out again. Then Princess Melody wonders what if someone was hiding behind the table. She looks behind, and behind the table is a Geshite merchant wearing red and white clothes.
Donna tells Melody that the merchant was probably breaking the law and that they should arrest him. The merchant tells them if they let him go off free and keep all the weapons, he would tell them what was going on.
Princess Melody was about to say yes, when Princess Rosie stopped her. Rosie told her that they should let him go free if he would tell them what's going on, but not let him take the weapons, just in case he took the weapons to some troops to use in war against Alitrem.
