Hyralion is an empire consisting of semi-independent city-states. There are eight provines: Norlan, home of the former northern tribes and two great dwarven clans. They are known for their bravery, martial prowess and their excellent steel. Jareth, where sailors live and which capital is considered impregnable. They are masters of the ocean and thrive through trade. Hydron is the most densely populated province and can be considered the breadbasket of Hyralion. They are renowned for their knights and archers. Drahl, both famous and feared for its soldier, boasts a strong military tradition. They pride themselves on their discipline and strength, not only in military matters, but in all aspects of life. Montana the city in the mountains, was built by dwarves and abandoned after a war with the fey. Their land is rich in ore and gems, the buried dwarven technology a lure for mages and scientists from all over the realm. Irrolan is a place of green and nature. Its grand forest being protected by several powerful elven communities. Those who live here gather and hunt to fill their needs, wasting nothing. They pride themselves on their spellcraft. Heresh occupies the large peninsula in the south. Covered for more than half in misty bogs and deep swamps, it is scarcely populated. It is a place of research for everything arcane, religious and eldritch, boasting the nation’s one true magic academy. Finally there is the grand city of Empra. It lies within Hydron, but is surrounded by a ring of neutral territory. Mostly a city of craft and trade this is where most of the wealth of the empire is gathered. This is also where the emperor resides and rules, aided by his council.
