Helwa Brokestone

Helwa Brokestone is a human woman from the village of Cuzau. She grew up with Zenzin Appleblossom and Gunny Pitts. She tormented both halflings, mostly because of her drunken father who impressed upon her the idea that the halflings are all schemers and cheats. Helwa would use her size to her advantage, for she was not only bigger because she was human, but she was also a very muscular girl. She would grab the boys by their ankles and dunk them in the lake, calling Zenzin "Applebottom" and Gunny "Pitt Stains". 

As she grew older, Helwa's hate of the halfling of the village only grew larger. She would sometimes "accidentally" injure them, especially Zenzin and Gunny. She once threw a knife that sliced open Zenzin's face, leaving a scar that remains to this day.

Eventually Helwa's father died and she was forced to find employment. She tried to work as a dock hand, unloading fish from the boats, but her temper would always get her fired. She tried hunting for a living, but lacked the patience to track game. She fell in with some bad sorts and started harassing others, especially halflings, for protection money. This led to her finally being thrown out of the village for the first time. However, she eventually convinced the town council to let her return.

Helwa now mostly lives with her small group of ruffians down by the docks. She spends her time cursing the halflings of the village and drinking. She and her crew sometimes head south towards Zeidenburg, and denies knowing anything about the reports of bandits that then follow.
