The Fat King's Fair is not in the material realm, but in a section of the Bealtain Fancy (Feywild). Marco has not shared with anyone why he has access to this realm.
The entrance portal to the fairgrounds changes every 12 hours but is always in a remote part of the wilds. It is possible to stumble upon it, but highly unlikely. Postings for the Fat King's Fair use a magical ink that works like a compass to direct you to the fairground entrance portal. The ink is activated by pressing your palm to the parchment and lasts for 12 hours.
Instead of paying for games and attractions with real currency, one host (cashier) is paid and guests receive tokens they can then use to enjoy the fair. This lowers the risk for carnies and makes sure no one can steal valid, local currency from them. 1 silver per game token. The entrance fee is 1 silver and with it you receive a game token. Players can also earn tokens by completing quests for NPCs or purchasing from the host.
