Ulster von Krieg

Firstborn of a minor noble household on one of Einholdt's barren eastern island holdings, von Krieg showed early aptitudes for martial subjects and cruelty. He was sent to Einholdt's prestigious military academy in Konigsberg at the age of ten after pushing his father's arcane advisor down a flight of stairs, breaking her neck. 

Krieg's reputation at the academy quickly grew notorious as he bested pupils many years his senior in combat and in tactics. He graduated from the academy at 17, a year earlier than any other student. He assumed a position as a bannerman in the Drachen Company, the most respected mercenary company in Einholdt. 

By the age of 25, he had assumed command of his own platoon of Drachen mercenaries and was dispatched on independent missions. His platoon quickly rose in prestige among the others. They never turned down a job, no matter how bloody. And they never failed their missions. Soon, petty tyrants and respected rulers alike were petitioning to hire Krieg and his outfit directly. From that moment, he raised his own banner and troops from across Einholdt flocked to him to become a part of Krieg's Company. 

Now, Krieg continues to enjoy his infamy and fortune while taking on contracts. But rumours have begun circulating that Krieg's ambition is not limited to the life of a mercenary general; even one as praised as he is. His pursuit of Einholdt's crown princess and her brother on behalf of the chancellor speaks to designs at much loftier goals indeed, for it is said he took the contract without discussion of pay.
