He is currently missing.
Hephaestus is a major god who is currently scouring all over the world for his wife. She disappeared one day and none of his spells are able to find a single trace of where she went and who made her disappear. He has offered to make items for those responsible for her return.
He is known to be fair and even to all of the gods and has made weapons for all sides of the conflicts in the past. He assumes the disappearance of his wife Aphrodite is a means to change his allegiances. He accepts that there may be a greater purpose in their plan, but until he knows more, he is going with what little he has.
It is rumored that he has on occasion been visiting The Forge of the Stars to return it to its former glory. It is suspected that this was one of his forges lent to the mortal world, and it is assumed at least some of The Divine Artifacts were crafted by him here.
