[Unlike most things I've posted so far with the 'Canon' tag, stuff from the licenced RPGs is of a low order of officialdom. It is part of the back-story of ONLY WAR, one of the Warhammer 40,000 Rôleplay games, which were made by Fantasy Flight Games. Other than the existence and location of the entire Calixis Sector in the galaxy, I've seen little of their lore acknowledged by Games Workshop (and mostly only in their 'specialist' niche game, Necromunda). There are even things that seem to conflict with GW, such as Adeptus Astartes using even bigger versions of the same weapons that are already ridiculously powerful for ordinary Humans, and the fact that Navis Nobilité and many sorcerers are not psykers (even though summoning rituals don't require sorcery anyway). Even when using the overall rules and background for these RPGs, I expect to try to avoid those particularly iffy things—my Space Marines (other than some mutants) and Titans assume that GW's official scale claims are true, rather than being fandom's 'true'scale. The fact that a Marine in 40K is only the match for three ordinary soldiers is easily explained by the fact that you wouldn't bother to play out a battle (especially one including one side of surgical-strike specialists) except with them being the cream of the crop, too, like Cadian 'Shock Troops'. A non-Veteran Marine squad should be able to handle many times its number of common foes, but the background doesn't support many cases for a single Battle-'Brother' rampaging around alone as an invincible one-Man army.]
[Yeah, I really should make a separate 'Note' for all this stuff, perhaps some of it in my future 'how to build characters who fit in my universe' article mentioned in 'Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay house rules'.]
