Founded in the year -731, the Sorcerium has been the only accessible wizard school for almost fifteen hundred years. The only other known schools were in Balad Naran before it was destroyed in the year -555.
The Sorcerium accepts any student who petitions, has magical talent (Magicians are not instructed here - one must have the intelligence to become a wizard), and can pay the outrageous entrance fee. Individual students have been accepted without paying an entrance fee, but this is definitely the exception, not the norm.
At the Sorcerium, students learn everything from magical theory, information on the various schools of magic, reading magical script and creating enchanted items. Each school of magic is overseen by a Master or Mistress. The elemental schools are represented as well. The school does not have a Master of Wild Magic, nor is it looking for one.
