The party infiltrates a fort to rescue Bol'bara
La Fiesta discovered an area known as the Brokenveil Bluffs. They spotted animal and humanoid bones scattered around the path. Morgid warned the group of possible danger. Suddenly, they heard a beautiful song. Morgid started running toward a cave. Barkevious Strink hit Morgid with a chill touch spell to knock him out of the charm. Everyone else heard strange growls interwoven in the song and ignored the charm. Frustrated at the loss of their prey, two harpies attacked. They were quickly dealt with. The party searched for a while and found the harpy nest. There were two harpies guarding the nest and the group quickly dealt with them. They searched and found some treasure.
La Fiesta continued over the bluffs and saw Fort Venture for the first time. Seeing that the fort was heavily guarded, they decided to ambush a patrol to try and steal uniforms. They tracked down a patrol and knocked down most of them. The sergeant surrendered. La Fiesta realized that tying up the guards was the equivalent of a slow death. They stripped the guards of all equipment and sent them on their way into the marsh. Brittney Hakshadow was able to disguise herself as the sergeant.
Brittney Hakshadow was able to enter the fort with bluff and disguise. She explored most of the fort while in disguise. While exploring, she found a strange undead cultist (called a hollow one) named Alonne Frith. Alonne Frith is a Far Realm scholar from Rotthold. In exchange for his rescue, he provided La Fiesta with a magical hunter's coat.
Given the Dwendalian Empire's views toward "monstrous races", the tabaxi and aracorcra decided to wait and sneak in later. After night fell, the group sneaked into the fort main hall. They saw a couple guards standing uncomfortably outside a door to a chapel. La Fiesta quickly and quietly silenced the guards. When they opened the door to the chapel, they saw a nightmarish scene: A Dwedalian Empire Inquisitor was torturing a tied up goblin witch. A guard was gleefully watching. The goblin must be Bol'bara.
The inquisitor, Parson Pellinost had been torturing Bol'bara for days. La Fiesta dispatched the guard and inquisitor. When they freed Bol'bara, she yelled in a demonic voice "FREE" and ran through a wall. Bol'bara quickly killed most of the guards in the fort. Commander Struther Felmont struck down Bol'bara. La Fiesta was able to quickly dispatch him after they found that he was aware of the torture. They healed Bol'bara. When she woke, she spoke in a normal voice. La Fiesta was able to find some moorbounders and ride back to Urzin.
