A small subterrainian race with spider like features
“You must give us the benefit of the doubt. While it may seem second nature to see the sky and stars.
To travel in the air is so common, you give it no thought about how unnatural it actually is. Consider the ocean, you are walking on the seabed and are trying to talk and keep up with a fish. That is what this experience is like to us at this moment.”
-Vasper Theraphosa, Orbel Archivist
To the rest of the world, the Krinna are certainly amongst the strangest. Their cities span most of the Wythnos, the real reason why they are not so common in the world, is because their cities are all underground.
Created out of spite, the Quinterrai Vairen had purposely made the Krinna to interfere with his compatriots as they pursue their games. In the beginning of their history, the Krinna were taught to hate all life above the surface, especially the Cythraul.
As time progressed though, the Krinna learned from the others, and in time began to hate the reason why they were created in the first place. They turned their backs on Vairen, and shunned his ways of teachings.
Because they are fighting centuries of hatred and conflict, Krinna are treading carefully when dealing with others. They are definitely diplomatic first and foremost, and they are trying especially hard to make amends for all of their one sided hatred for the surface.
Krinna are certainly unique when it comes to appearance. They are small in stature, they stand on 6 legs, and are no taller than 3 feet high. Krinna have two very nimble arms. While not known for their strength, they are incredibly coordinated, intelligent, and curious.
The other races tend to be off put by their looks, this is not without merit, because the bodies of the Krinna look eerily similar like spiders. Their torsos and faces are humanoid, with long narrow faces, the main difference, other than their main bodies, is that they have eight eyes. The positions of their eyes change from Krinna to Krinna.
They are by far the most prolific of the races, each Krinna can claim to have hundreds of siblings. This by all accounts is an understatement. The Krinna themselves have confirmed on multiple accounts that they are numbered in the millions.
They favor patterned clothing that echos their skins and favor light and billowing cloth, it makes them look bigger, an advantage that they need because of their size.
Krinna cities are massive from their perspective. Found deep underground they span hundreds of feet in chambers without counting. Instead of what would be considered dark and dank, the streets are lined with colored moss, and giant crystal chandeliers hang from the ceilings. There are many levels of farms dedicated to their primary foods of mushrooms and root vegetables. They are master agrarians and nothing goes to waste in their cities.
Each clan has a capital they call home, but they consider any city with Krinna home. This fact is never disclosed to an top-sider for fear of reprisal or attack from those they have wronged in the past.
Because of their size, many top-sider have never seen them besides cine-glyphs. Any Krinna will claim that their cities are the best, and tend to point out where other races city planning fails. This does little to engender them to others, but most people accept their criticism with some good humor.
Life for a Krinna child is very different. To date, nobody knows how old they can be, how fast they grow or even how they are born. They tend to use “We” and “Us” as their descriptors. The idea of self is a fairly foreign concept as they favor choices that benefit the many over the few.
Eventually they reach an age considered an adult they go out and try to find a different colony, adventure to learn new things, or join different guilds and try to fix the perception that their race has been trying to forget.
