Originally named for its discoverer, Admiral Rook Tarrington, Rook's Bay carves a massive inlet into the Northern coast of Vorosia. It offers substantial protection from the ravages of the open waters of the Decifian Ocean and the surrounding forests on either side have provided a lucrative industry for the budding settlements along its shorelines.
The narrow entry to the bay, coupled with the high cliffs that line either side, offer protection from the most tumultuous storms and the waves they cause. The two guard towers on either side of the bay entrance, offer similar protection from the pirates, brigands and rival trade ships that frequent the waters of the Decifian Ocean.
The murky waters of Rooks Bay are calm, turning tumultuous only during the worst of the storms. They maintain a general muddy brown colour, as a result of the mud and sediment constantly being disturbed by the lapping waves that make their way onto the shore. During the great thaw that occurs every year as the winter snows melt, the water mixes with the winter melt and turns a noticeably bluer shade, but they usually return to their usual colour and murkiness within the fortnight.
