Brannir, Erron, Glyncairn, and Kuartz all have found their way to the Blue Mermaid tavern. Umbra waits in an alley next to the tavern. Erron reviews what has happened so far:

  • they scouted and found the Sea Queen's Fury.
  • they raised an alarm at a magic shop.
  • they met underworld figures, but instead of a conversation, they had a confrontation.

They decide it's time for a new plan. They decide that they have only a few paths:

  • this city is bustling. lots of activity. subtle use of magic abounds.
  • the captain surely uses a fence. the fence might be known to some of the crew.
  • the safehouse has kept a low profile. direct inquiries will probably not bear fruit.

The party to split into two groups. Erron notes how well that worked last time. Brannir takes Erron and Glyncairn teams up with Kuartz. The party heads down to the docks again, watching the ship again. As the day has gotten long, it is not long before they notice members of the crew heading out in small groups. The group ends up at a tavern, The Sleeping Snake.

Brannir and Erron follow a quartet and begin buying drinks. Brannir is getting his group rowdy. They talk about having sailed from Luskan to Athkatla. They seem not to talk about anything in the last 3 or so months. The crew is loyal to the captain and they also talk cargo. Brannir talks about sailing as a life. Erron talks about having been a sailor and there are several ports he can't show his face at. 

Kuartz and Glyncairn follow a pair and buy them drinks as well. Kuartz tells a joke, then one of the sailors tells about a sea battle. She begin to delve into piracy. "what happens at sea, stays at sea". Glyncairn inquires about if they are looking for crew. He is told especially a medic. 

Kuartz inquires about being a passenger. The crew suggests she talk to the captain.

Erron buys a bottle of rum, gets Kuartz's attention and gets inspiration, and convinces the crew he is looking to offload some contraband. They tell him they don't know anyone personally, but they've heard Captain K talk about Green Allis.

The crew all join up and head back to their ship. Brannir then asks Erron if he does have something he's trying to get rid of. Erron snickers. The party settles up the 100sp for the night of drinking.

The party makes their way to the dock. Umbra climbs atop a building. They expected things to be unloaded right now, but find nothing in motion. They request permission to come aboard.

They inquire about the captain. She comes out and they find they have never met her.  Brannir says they are looking to move stuff and were talking to some of her crew. She inquires at to where they found ill gotten booty to sell. They are evasive about what they have to sell. He alludes that it is magical in nature and not theirs. Brannir fails to sell it. She tells him to get it and he replies it is not in town. He admits to being new. She offers to put them up on the ship and Brannir says it will be a day or two until the stuff arrives.

The party is shown to a cabin... where they are locked and barred in. There is no port hole, but there is key hole.
