Batteries, Batteries everywhere but not a watt for a charge

Nearly all TL9 equipment requires power. Yet in the Struggle charged batteries are more valuable than gold. In short power means "Power".

There are several sizes of power cells ranging from AA to F. The power capacity in an A cell is equivelent to 10 times that of a modern AA battery and increase exponentially with each size increase. Power cells are rechargeable.

Power cell technology did advance sufficiently to introduce flexible batteries.

  • AA cell - the smallest half the size of a grain of rice operates the tiniest devices such as implants and microbots. $32 0.0005 lbs.
  • A cell - used to operates equipment with minimal power requirements. About the size of a dime, they can be found powering smarguns and helmet sensors. $64 0.005 lbs.
  • B cell - used to power tiny radios and power tools, these are analogous to the modern AA battery in size. $96 0.05 lbs.
  • C cell - this pistol magazine sized power cell is found everywhere in high-power electronics and tools. Often equipment designed for larger or smaller cells has an adapter. $320 0.5 lbs.
  • D cell - about the size of a "Dune" paperback book. This size is generally used to power military equipment. $3,200 5 lbs.
  • E cell - the size of a small rucksack this size is commonly used in high-draw systems such as powered exo-skeletons. $64,000 20lbs.
  • F cell - sized about the same as a 1.5l engine it is found as a power source for medium and large vehicles. $640,000 200 lbs.
