Marrick was the youngest child of King Feydrick Greenest and Vish Hardstone.
Scholars speculate that he may have had some sort of emotional disconnect, as even from a young age he showed very few emotional attachments. According to family legend, he never cried, even as an infant.
As he grew, these tendencies only solidified further. He was cold, calculating, and distant from his family. Still, as a child of royalty he was provided the greatest of teachers and given the best of everything.
He took his lessons in history, combat, and strategy to heart, quickly making a name for himself during the reigns of his father and brother as an astute commander and steward.
His marriage to his niece, Wynn Greenest, made many people uncomfortable, but was viewed by King Henrick Greenest as a small price to pay to keep his strange brother satisfied.
What the king didn't know, was that Marrick spent his entire adult life scheming to secure the throne for himself. He was directly responsible for the deaths of his nephews Henrick II, Lethrick, and Wenrick. Their deaths paved the way to the throne following Henricks death.
Upon his ascension to kingship, his sister, Illrith discovered and exposed his scheming to the public. As the prior king and his children had been well-loved by the people, there was an immediate call for his head, leading to Marricks Crisis.
During this uprising, he would be burned alive, along with his wife and their children Marrick II and Elrick.
Today, Marrick is regarded as one of the worst kings in the history of Thule, and is credited as the direct cause of the destruction of his house.
