Gigaclaw is a beast form Decepticon, part of the Decepticon Expeditionary Force, and one of the team's most powerful members. Her wolf form allows her to tear other bots limb from limb. When she's not close enough to rip her opponents apart, she uses her lethal rail cannon to slag enemies from great range. Her cunning and strength are infamous, and she would be one of the greatest of the Decepticon warriors if she could just work with a team. Unfortunately, she has an extremely hard time being part of a group.
Gigaclaw was an MTO experiment, constructed cold during the early days of the Great War. She was part of what was intended to be called the "Beast Brigade," a team of beast form Decepticons with enhanced strength, agility, and endurance, while also being more manageable than the Predacons. Gigaclaw's alt mode was based on a turbowolf, which her makers assumed would help her have a pack mentality. However, upon activation, Gigaclaw's first act was to tear the optics from the technicians and escape the facility, becoming a feral warrior for quite some time before she was eventually captured by a retrieval team under the command of Cassian Prime.
Cassian took an interest in the powerful warrior. While others were content to let her rot in a confinement cell, Cassian began speaking with her, discovering her outburst was due to the shock of awakening in a body not suited to her spark. In fact, she should have been in heavy transport, possibly an artillery unit in the war, had her spark been allowed to form its own shell. Instead, the turbowolf form was almost the opposite of how she felt she should be, and her immediate response was to attack.
The False Prime convinced her to work with him on his team, the Decepticon Expeditionary Force, which would allow her to express her aggression without restraint. The charismatic Decepticon leader convinced her that given enough time, she would grow to enjoy and even revel in her form. While she never truly found this to be the case, she did come to enjoy the violence, especially tearing victims apart with her claws.
