Very basic back story.

You were sent by the Church of the New Gods (Doheaga Pantheon) to hunt down and capture the party of criminals who were responsible for the death of High Monk Trylthein who died in Larakesh. The rest of your group died in the mountains along the way, but you survived. You witnessed them enter this shrine high in the mountains, but you hung back after seeing them speak to a sapphire dragon of immense size (dragons are just legends - no one you know has ever seen one).  

Sneaking in after them, you realized this shrine is holy and could help you understand more about your god(s). You are outnumbered by this group of criminals, essentially lost in the wilderness, and would probably die if you tried to get back home on your own. What do you do?

2. The Emissary's Lament: This book is a collection of hymns, prayers, and prophecies attributed to the twelve gods of the Doheaga pantheon. The songs and prophecies are often used in worship services and are believed to be a source of divine inspiration and guidance. The book also contains stories and myths about the gods and their interactions with mortals.
