After three days at sea with the refugees of Kaleheo Village, the Wavechaser’s captain, Three Earrings, docks at Port Utehsky, a gnome tinker collective on a rocky island. After disembarking, the party explored the port and followed a young gnome to Buber’s Important Things to attempt to purchase Breathing Bubbles to prepare for future underwater exploration. The store seemed to double as the port council chambers. When the town council realized that the ship was looking to offload their refugee passengers, they struck a deal.
Buber would give the party the Breathing Bubbles if they investigated the trouble in the farming regions located on top of the craggy isle. Havatier made some trades for a well made net and some water proof sacks. Havatier, Hawthorne, Three Earrings, and her shipmate Heidi Axebreaker headed up the steep cliff side to the farming region. There they found carnage. Several gnomes had been murdered and their bodies disappeared. Suddenly, a strange noise was heard overhead after Hawthorne spotted a silhouetted “sail-shaped” object far on the top of the observatory building. A powerful wind began to blow and Havatier was nearly injured by an invisible attack. All escaped into the metal building.
Inside, they found 20 gnomish farmers cowering inside afraid to leave the protection of the building. Making their way to the top of the ancient Khaori observatory, the party found Lippon the Daft, a banished rogue alchemist from the magic suspicious community below torn to pieces on the roof. Then, the party was attacked again. Havatier cleverly cast a web above Hawthorne managing to slow the strange creature enough to do it some injury. The creature retreated. After discovering Haltafitz the Master of the Observatory hiding in a compartment in the telescope, famished and dehydrated, they discovered that the creature is an enchanted wyvern experimented on by the alchemist. It’s name is Timothy and was used as a pet by the Master of the tower to carry mirrors high into the sky. Taking cover inside the observatory, they set about making a plan to capture and kill the dangerous beast. Once that task is accomplished, Haltafitz agreed to give them a map to the island of Sharky Bay, possible location of the legendary Treasure of the Lydias Shade!
