An orphan surrendered to the Orebornne Monastery as a baby. She was adopted by the Church of Chauntea, and raised in Gonava alongside her "sisters": Wendy, Ethel, and Clara, as well as her friend Nightingale.

Hazel spent her youth training to be a Battle-sister, one who would protect life in the name of her matron deity, Chauntea. She grew into a strong and compassionate woman, whose unconditional love for life and all creatures guides her every step.

When at last she came of age, she eagerly leapt to serve the local Helm Rescue Service, and began to embark on journeys alongside Paladin Sandor Helmshand and talented scholar and mage Qintin Valdrant.

In the current year, she has made countless new friends, allies, and connections. Now a full-fledged Inquisitor, she serves not only Chauntea, but the Helm Rescue Service, and the Gonavian Alliance as a whole.

In the aftermath of the recent plague in Yarrin, she stumbled upon an ancient relic which dispelled an unknown magic, revealing her true form as a Mapache.

In the following days, Hazel took to her new form quite happily!

In particular, she quickly became VERY fond of her prehensile tail, finding it useful in many situations! Such as holding a lovely cup of tea whilst her tiny pink mitts are otherwise occupied, with foodstuffs or important paperwork! Yet more likely foodstuffs.

Reaching tall shelves, an initial worry of hers upon losing 3 feet of height, ended up not being an issue at all, as she discovered she can scale pretty much anything with ease!

She did, however, find the odd rubbish bin quite tempting in those early days... And Chester's Possum Park made her feel very... VERY lonely.

Since speaking with the church and viewing their records, Hazel finds herself in no small amount of turmoil regarding her ambiguous origins. Eyes turned skyward, she searches for answers while journeying with her friends.

The adventures continue, with Hazel and her friends traveling to and fro in the Wondron Forest. First north to liberate Misthaven from a ghostly blood feud generations in the making, then south, to investigate what ended up being Silverpine's furry family secret!

It was during this time she met Moroto Nabe, a Simian beast mage and scholar with a passion for studying, caring for, and teaching the populace about creatures of all shapes and sizes. Hazel fell quite hard and fast in love, having never felt such an immediate and electric connection before!

During a surprise work vacation (or as Sandor would insist, a senseless delay) caused by a paperwork snag that spanned several weeks, Hazel and Moro spent many precious hours together.

She learned much about beastkin, creatures, and animals during this time, and no small amount about herself. Hazel got to know Moroto's troupe, the found family he shared his cause with.

When, at last, the bothersome scheduling wrinkle had been smoothed, and Hazel returned to journey with her friends, she did so quite madly in love, and with a courting necklace sparkling merrily upon her chest.

The Inquisitors finally departed for Marin's Embrace, which not only boasted a rumored Cult of Zehir presence, but had, in recent weeks, become afflicted by a horrible temporal deluge. Marin's citizens suffered rapid and severe weather changes, from snow to typhoons, blistering sun and back again!

The party hastened forth to answer their pleas for help!
