Varo has white, short-cropped hair, and looks much like an elf though his skin tone seems to have a tinge of blue when in bright light. His hair color does not match his seemingly young age. He is of medium build and height standing at 5’11 and weighing around 190 lbs. He wears studded leather armor dyed a dark grey beneath a blue-grey cloak adorned with raven feathers. He has a half-face mask around his neck with the image of a bird etched into it. He wears a thick silver ring that is quite worn on his left hand, if examined closely what initially seems to be tarnished and scuffling is instead revealed to be innumerable lightning bolts etched into the surface. In his hands, he cradles what appears to be a well-worn spear which though it has seen much use, is quite well cared for.

Varokal Thalor was born during a fierce storm that shook the towering peaks of the mountains in eastern Strezan. As a Kalashtar, he shared his mind with a Quori spirit named Syltari, a guide and guardian from the realm of dreams, known as Dal Quor. From a young age, Varo showed an affinity for magic, particularly manipulation of the elements and especially the forces of the storm. His abilities were both awe-inspiring and unpredictable, drawing the attention of his elders.

Despite his promising talents, Varo’s nights were incessantly tormented by visions of a cataclysmic storm, a relentless force tearing through the fabric of reality. These nightmares hinted at a malevolent entity lurking beyond them but always just out of reach. Syltari, his Quori spirit, warned him of an ancient Quori who wielded immense power fraught with hatred and malice, who sought to break into the material plane.

Desperate to understand his visions and control his powers, Varo sought guidance in forbidden texts and ancient rituals. During one such ritual, he made contact with a powerful djinn named Zephyros, a lord of the elemental plane of air. Zephyros, intrigued by Varo’s potential and the looming threat of the dark Quori, offered him a pact: the djinn’s boundless power in exchange for Varo’s service and a promise to safeguard the balance between the planes.

With the djinn’s power coursing through him, Varo’s storm magic grew even more formidable. Yet, with power, there always comes a price. While the pact deepened his connection to the elemental chaos, it also amplified his nightmares, drawing the attention of malevolent forces. Varo’s dreams became battlegrounds where Syltari and Zephyros fought against the encroaching darkness of the Quori warlord.

Haunted by his visions and driven by a sense of destiny, Varo left the mountains to wander the world. He sought out places of ancient power, hoping to uncover secrets that could help him thwart the dark Quori’s plans. His journey led him through perilous realms, where he encountered other lost souls and unearthed forgotten knowledge.

Now, Varokal Thalor stands as a storm sorcerer and warlock, his soul a tempest of conflicting forces. With Zephyros’s power and Syltari’s guidance, he fights to keep the malevolent Quori at bay. Haunted by visions of a world torn asunder, Kael is determined to harness his storm within and protect the fragile balance between realms. His path is fraught with danger, but he remains steadfast, a beacon of defiance against the approaching storm.

His search has mostly been fruitless but Varo has found some respite from his nightmares by basking in the storms of the material plane, they seem to drive back the darkness plaguing his dreams, but only temporarily.
