Calling all heroes for an adventure of a lifetime in the world of Dungeons & Dragons!
(5e)
Find reality disappointingly boring? Need adventure in your life like that you never experienced before? The world of Valonder needs you! It is a world built with over 20 years of passion into a homebrew setting like no other. A campaign with a rich classical history of ancient magics and creatures of woe around every corner.
The Realm of Valonder
Valonder has been home to humans now for a little over 3000 years. Firmly under their influence, humans now have full control over the known region and are currently outnumbering every other race ten to one. That’s not to say that humans are purposely eliminating racial competition, it’s just that they have been very ambitious about expanding. Other races are given little choice: assimilate or be stepped over and sometimes on as the goblins learned the hard way 300 years ago. Valonder is currently under the control of The Four Duchies who can trace back their heritage through generations to King Ryster, the only man ever to unite all of Valonder under one empire. Upon his death, he split his kingdom (and crown) into five pieces; one for each of his sons whose descendants now rule today.
Peace has settled over the lands. Nobles now spend their time posturing and waging petty border disputes, commoners enjoy a lack of conscription and bountiful harvests, and roads are relatively safe for travelers, adventurers, and traders alike. Magic is still heavily regulated by New Arcadia; only those licensed are technically allowed to ply their arcane trade. In the wake of the Magocracy’s destruction at the end of the previous Age, an organization called the Magical Censorate was created with the duty to hunt down any spellcaster not affiliated with them. To everyone’s surprise, no religious turmoil has sprung up, but then again, there hasn’t been a recorded divine intervention or prophecy delivered since King Ryster split the realm after The Great Goblin War.
Civilization is at its best!, but it’s a harmony that surely can’t last. What role in the coming events will our heroes play? That is, if ‘hero’ is an appropriate term. Fate will bring your characters together as the realm is transformed once more. With a world full of nobles, scoundrels, and untamed wilderness; what story will our adventurers weave? Valonder is an open and established world with major events as driving points for players to interact along with.
Your character is one bound to fate, destined to be at the center of the coming events...
Your decisions and dice unravel the history and story as we go from level 1 to 20 if you so wish…
With that said, D&D is the game of games! It is where YOU, the players, walk the narrative of the story as your character of choice. I, the Dungeon Master, have created the setting, supportive actors, and villains; a living world with a rich history and an evolving narrative plot. It is a fantasy game with nearly infinite possibilities as you explore a world of zombies, unicorns, princesses, and dragons. Build a character of your choice ranging from a weapon master fighter to a spell-casting wizard. Perhaps a silent acrobatic rogue or a god-empowered cleric; a rugged ranger of the forest or even a barbarian of rage set free. The choice is yours…
-Session Zero-
Our first meeting- Session Zero- will cover ground rules, house rules, game rules and players'/DMs’ expectations. We will also go over the world setting of the campaign, and complete character creation with full backgrounds and integration. Session Zero comes at zero charge with no set time-frame, though estimated 2-4 hours. Sessions after that cost $20 per person and are scheduled in a 3-5 hour time block; based on group availability.
For those interested, a group of at least four (7 max) must be assembled to start. (Individuals may also join a waitlist to join others; availability dependent). While the game setting is in 5th edition D&D built upon a 3.5 foundation, all gameplay is at the GameMasters discretion therein. First created characters are bound to the original Players Guide with expansions ‘unlocked’ during the course of the campaign.
I have been a DM for D&D since the early 2000’s and have always created home-brew/personal world settings for the multitude of campaigns I have run over the years. Valonder is a grand epitome of wonder and lore packed into a one-of-a-kind experience in a fully complete and immersive world ready to be explored and conquered.
