Village of Tyne

The village of Tyne is the last outpost ten days west of Crow's Keep before reaching the Forest of Drelnor, located at the edge of the Tyne Wood, with its rich Blackwood trees. The wealthy town is known for both its Blackwood exports and wooden items of value crafted from the rare wood. Additionally. the undergrowth is noted for its roadberries and lindiln mushrooms, which are exported both raw, dried, and in such items as preserves and lindiln paste products. These rarities had earned Mayor Elton Xavier Tyne a prominent position and much wealth, which he used in his petty vendetta against his professional and personal rival, Mayor Jorgens of the Village of Byrne, located three days to the north.

In a beastmen attack on Tyne, the Mayor was slain and it was revealed that he was an Ogre Magi who had slain the original mayor and taken his place. Byrne Mayor Jorgens was assigned lord of Tyne until a suitable mayoral replacement could be found. 

Booklady Gloria Wodonsdaughter is his official liaison to the town, and she is actually acting mayor.

Additionally, as the village is nestled against the Tyne Wood and closely situated to the Forest of Drelnor, it keeps a significant garrison of guardsmen, known as the Tyne Regulars, to enforce local laws and keep the other dangers, such as monsters, thuel, and skorn, at bay. The Ogre Magi mayor was xenophobic and did not tolerate anything unusual to trespass into his village (such as thuel or skorn adventures and unusual or fantastical pets). This restriction has been lifted.
