GOVERMENT
Baron Wevran Ethasiel his son Romlach govern Klydon. Even though Wevran is the baron he has delegated all military matters to his son. Romlach, who is a warrior as his grandfather once was, enforces a discipline above the normal. His warriors equal the royal guard, although they are not as many, and they effectively patrol Klydon and its surroundings. A handful of selected guildsmen informs and helps the baron on economical matters.
ECONOMICS
Klydon lies in the shadow of Tatarton and much of the revenue of the area is lost to its more populous neighbor to the east. There are however some trade in salt and copper. The agricultural side of Klydon is different. Wevran Ethasiel is the largest landholding baron in the kingdom and though trade is slow, his fief generates more than enough revenue to the settlement.
TAXES
- Property: 6% per annum (residential)
- Property: 6% per annum (business)

RELIGION
There are no temples in Klydon but the faiths of Argona and Soliri are still very dominant. Other faiths are not discouraged but neither are they supported. Exposed followers of any of the dark deities or cults are taken to the keep. Many of them disappear without a trace...
CURRENT POLITICAL SITUATION
Wevran Ethasiel, baron of Klydon, is a vain man, involved in numerous petty intrigues and he is not highly trusted. It is said that any cleverly worded appeal is likely to get a lengthy hearing at the baron’s table. This is very true and Wevran is not a stranger to commit treason as long as he believes it will gain him. He has more than once been reminded by his liege, Earl Curo, that if he sidesteps from his obligations he will feel the wrath from Olokand. The baron believes the earl is too preoccupied with other matters and takes these types warnings as formal and necessary, but without any real threat in them. Wevran is also weak to the sheriff of Tatarton, Maldan of Harabor, and has secretly informed him that in an eventual civil war he will support the bastard son of king Nocratha the Stargazer, Steward of Northgate. Maldan, who thinks Wevran speaks the truth, knows the danger this man presents and is very careful in not promising him too much. The baron of Klydon has a few non-noble connections with brigands, thieves and other ruffians, including Varnori mercenaries. Wevran enjoys playing with fire and so far he has succeeded in staying away from the long arm of the king’s law.

3. THE GALLOWS
When an executed person at the Keep’s gallows begins to decay, the body is moved here. The inhuman sight of the rotting corpse repulses most travelers passing the bridge. The local miller is an unscrupulous and dangerous man. Jonah is light built and he is very short, but this does not seem to be of any hindrance to his personality.
