9/5/300 - The party recover from their battle with the Chuul, the Priest and The Drowned Dead. The storm still blew overhead and the party surmised that the cave at the island's heart held the storm's source. Heskan called out to the villagers and was met by Rhiannon. Rhiannon explained that the village contained a mix of survivors from boats that got caught in the storms and those who lived here before. She pleaded with Heskan to save them and Heskan said they would help them.
Braith and Elnorin travelled back to the boat and told Brottor of the plan the bring the villagers to the beach before going hunting. They found a large quantity of game due to a distinct lack of predators on the island.
Ruric Ironfoot and Heskan explained the plan to a sceptical Rhiannon. Heskan also retold the legend of Skidbladnir to Ruric. When the village assembled to leave Ruric noted their fear and discontent with leaving, fearing retribution from Morkoth. Saying that anyone who wanted to could stay around 60 villagers stayed. The rest travelled to the beach.
Door said that he could stand watch as he could see in the dark (a lie) though none of the group noticed. Heskan spoke with a concern and innumerate villager who listed around 30 names as people who had gone missing in recent years, 'Chosen' by Morkoth to become Drowned Dead.
That night the remaining priest attacked, bringing with her 20 'drowners'. The part fought through, slaying the priestess and destroying all the undead. Four villagers perished in the onslaught.
10/5/300 - The party ventured into the cave. They discovered a bloody altar, a pen with half a dozen poisoned villagers being left to die of starvation or thirst (presumably to join the ranks of the Drowned Dead). They found the lair of Morkoth. Elnorin destroyed the ritual circle with a flaming sphere whilst the party engaged a chuul and more drowners. Just before the chuul fell, Morkoth arose from the depths and attacked. Braith ended the 'god' by putting a magical arrow through it.
When Heskan explored the cave, he felt a call of holy power from beyond the far wall. Falling into deep water he made his way through an underwater passage and found Morkoth's lair. In here were coins and jewels but, most importantly a Mysterious Shield. It was mid-morning and the party prepared to leave.
