Following the fight against Waccharhild the party returned to camp for the night with their horses.
22/05/300 -
The next day the party rest the weary horses and plan ahead. Braith and Heskan are wary of Ruric Ironfoot's connection with Ashkeeper whilst Elnorin's felt the best option would be to pursue Kartash and The Cabal.
23/05/300 to 9/6/300 - The party travel north encountering occasional bands of gnolls and a manticore, none of which proved any real challenge.
9/6/300 - The party arrived at Syndrid's tower to find a lone tent. After ascertaining that the area had played host to half a dozen humans and a large number of beings that didn't seem to need sleep, they say that the tracks headed north west to the veiled hills.
Entering the 'tower' they headed down the levels. First they found a trapped corridor consisting of a magically rolling floor, several orbs that fired scorching rays, orbs of cold and an effect that caused them to sink into the moving floor. Several minutes of effort and peril saw both Ruric and Elnorin nearly die but Elnorin eventually turned into a giant spider, circumventing most many of the dangers.
Following this the party needed rest to recover and sat in a small chamber, silently.
Below they encounter warlocks whose pacts had forced them into undeath followed by three members of The Cabal who were being driven to write maddening secrets by some allips. The party battled these with relative ease but, as they argued about the fate of the cultists they felt the floor begin to thrum with power.
In the chamber below they found a Stone Archway resembling the one in Carnspor. Kartash, Demelza (a wraith of sorts) and an unnamed apprentice were at work. Scuffle ensued but as the fight progressed Kartash announced that the group would be 'part of an experiment'. Producing a tuning fork of dark metal he struck it against the stone of the arch. The apprentice teleported the group out whilst the world exploded in a shadowy wave of energy. The party woke in the same chamber to find the ceiling open to the sky, rubble everywhere, sky of ash and the impression that the centuries had ravaged the world...
