The three unconscious guards are carried by the horses as the party approach town. It is not long before a mounted patrol of 'Free Citizens' approached and questioned what the group were doing. They explained they were here to catch a boat and that they meant no harm. Given the presence of Namhias, the Free Citizens rode ahead to warn the guards and townsfolk. The group were directed towards Lorenzo, the harbour master.
Lorenzo mentioned that the Riverbeast would carry them south but their captain, Cana, was last seen very drunk in the Three Legged Mare.
Braith fished on the barge with Bankanir whilst the Heskan, Elnorin and Ruric Ironfoot went to the inn.
At the inn they found a very hungover Captain and crew (a ragged looking dwarf called Gaius, a halfling call Horsa and a human woman called Pymma). She apologised that they were too ill to travel, citing an enthusiastic dancer as the reason. She agreed to set sail immediately at first light.
The group ventured to the disused temple where a homeless human man tended shrines to the Personifications in the shadows of the dwarven statues.
Braith purchased some Horsewild (called Horse Thistle locally) to help soothe the steeds.
In the evening the group caught a glimpse of the dancer approaching Cana. She was turned away and shot an angry look at the party.
The group decided to stay for the night.
20/06/300 -
The party awoke before first light to find both the mysterious shield and Ruric's gauntlets stolen. A quick few locate objects later showed the shield was in the First Citizen's house. They were met by Randwalt Goodfellow, whose bedroom the shield had appeared in. He apologised and handed it over. He assigned guards to go with them in their quest to find the other stolen goods.
The left gauntlet was in the Lord's bedroom of the dilapidated keep. They found a spear driven through the bed and the feather of a magpie in the corner.
The right gauntlet was in the warehouse distract which is where they would head next.
