The group are still beneath the mountain. The group take a rest to recover from their battle with the spiders. During the rest they discuss the Winter Court and what they may expect.
The group travel on and find a choke point that appears to be guarded. A figure steps out the dark and challenges their advance. The figure identifies themselves as Stentor and appears to be a male drow. The group offer their aid to solve whatever problem troubles them, Elnorin having detected influence of the fey realm. The discussion goes relatively well and agrees that Pylia, one of his guards, escort the group to their town.
On route Pylia discusses 'The Lost', the part spider drow they met. They lost were created by wild magic as the drow fled the Winter Court.
The group travel on, leaving the mining tunnels and into a larger cavern. Pylia carries the group, minus their animals, across the river they encounter by boat. They find a stone town, elegantly carved buildings without roofs. The populace scatters and hides at the sight of these outsiders, though Pylia is given a large measure of respect before the populace flee.
The group are asked to surrender their weapons, which they do, and they are escorted in to wait. Having mentioned before that language was a significant barrier, a mage called Lanthe is sent to cast tounges on the non-elven speakers.
The party are taken to the main chamber where they meet Phaedra, Lolth and Telemakhos. The group discuss briefly the aims of the party, stating that there's nothing they could say to make them trust them. Lolth has visited the tower, once belonging to Syndrid 'the mad' and that the growing bubble of time distortion around the rift is dangerous and that the stone archway is no loner working. Telemakhos remains silent. Phaedra and Lolth decide the party can travel with her and her honour guard to help solve the issue, where the party can be observed.
Lanthe takes them back to her house. After Braith asks for some stories, she leaves to fetch Ariston who is a friend and senior lore keeper. Ariston discusses the origins of Mother Darkness (of whom Lolth was High Priestess) and her sibling Father Light. The story is new to most but Elnorin recognises some similarities to the origin of the fey and Heskan recognises that Father Light may have been the figure that drove Typhon mad. He also mentions that their fear is that, in their desperation, The Lost would seek out the Winter Court to cure them of their transfiguration. This would like lead to the re-enslavement of the Drow race. He mentions that Anaidon, a former consort of the Queen of Air and Darkness, would likely seek the drow reclaimed as he was probably blamed for their escape. Ariston also spoke of the leadership of The Lost, of Korax and Arachne, who are Phaedra's siblings and leaders of The Lost. Ariston leaves them and the group prepare for bed.
