The group journey down a vast tunnel, suspecting it to be a dragon lair. After a few hundred feet they find a gargantuan whole, seemingly intersected from the outside, and a trail following the path. It leads to the corpse of a dead purple worm (juvenile) with four dead members of the cult of Sabba. Cefesee's lesson wih Idriz pay off as he notes that some scouts entered, found the hole and brought reinforcements. A battle ensured and a few left the cavern (likely including The Teeth of Sabba whom Rak had indicated was behind this venture) and a larger group headed in.
They find an underground camp with a prisoner from the Cult of Maahet, who was being starved for sacrifice. The group attack and make short work of the cult members before rescuing the would-be sacrifice, a young man named Ashar. They communicate through various means and he warns them that a ritual seems to be happening, though a lack of leadership in Sabba's cult makes him think that this wasn't the initial plan.
Indeed they find another priest of Sabba over a colossal dragon skeleton but their ritual is failing (though Batthu feels the shards of fulgurite beginning to react to a ritual process probably designed to use them). Battle is joined quickly and the party disrupt the ritual casters. The fight is soon over after a fireball takes the fight out of their opponents.
