12/4 - The party set off to Carnspor, a quiet journey that took most of the day. Outside the town a gibbet held the body of a person who was in league with The Harper. They made good time and arrived late afternoon to find a dwindling market. On the far side of the square stood a scaffolding. Here The Prophet was giving a speech around the coming of the new gods and that the Stag Lord was punishment for sins against Ban Lior. She called everyone to a prayer meeting at the foundations of the Temple of the New Gods.
The party took rooms at the 'Coloured Wheel', the only inn in town, before heading to the prayer meeting. Ban Lior was in attendance and The Prophet gave a long speech about the new gods coming, urging people to shed symbols of the old gods. On leaving the prayer meeting they came across the town's magistrate sentencing a husband and wife to death for treason. They were accused of aiding dissenters and they were to be burned in their house. Heskan attempted to reason with him but could not sway the crowd. Moments before the torch lit the house Braith loosed an arrow that shot through the torch carrier's wrist. The battle that ensued was brief, the magistrate died to Elnorin in bear form but some guards fled. A halfling then grabbed the arm of Ruric and urged the party to flee with him. They saved the couple from the house, grabbed their children and followed. They were led to a small, impromptu shrine to Findabair where they met Rabbie. He explained that the party were in safe company and that there was a war between the enigmatic Harper and Ban Lior.
