Oath binding the king and magic users to Moafa De Oashi

Score 88

01/02/22

There are two oaths, the secret oath of the king and the public oath of the magic user.

These oaths taken are binding, though no one shares what happens if one tries to break it. However, for magic users it's more the limited magical access one gets than restrictions from the oath that matter. The oath has gone through a number of iterations over the years. The most notable change, was removal of direct references to the king, since some people outlived the oaths they swore. However, that was changed centuries ago.

The oath of a magic user is as follows:

With power comes great responsibility

I swear not to use magic to harm, hinder, or control the innocent.

I will use magic to help those in need, when their cause is just.

I will uphold and advance the ideals of Bishou, and use magic for the betterment of Bishou.
