Cave of Thunder

Fifteen miles north west of Tarn Availle, in the deep vales of the Mountains of the Sky, lies Caves of Thunder. The rich mine of the Phandelver’s Pact was lost many years ago during the Horde of the North invasion that devastated the region.

In the years since, countless prospectors and adventurers have searched for the lost mine, but none succeeded until the Rockseeker brothers found the entrance several months ago. Unfortunately, the Rockseekers did not realize they were being trailed by spies working for Nezznar, the Black Spider, and they inadvertently led the drow villain to their prize. Nezznar and his followers dealt with the Rockseekers who were guarding their find, then arranged an ambush of the remaining dwarves.  Meanwhile, Nezznar explored the Caves of Thunder.

The drow is searching for the Forge of Spells, where the human mages from the time of heros enchanted dwarven weapons and gnome gadgets. However, Nezznar’s exploration has been hindered by the restless undead and dangerous monsters that lurk in the Cave of Thunder, forcing him to proceed with great caution.

The Waylanders cleared the caves of undead and the demonic followers of Nezznar forcing the Drow to flee and freeing Nundro. 

The dwarves of Khazad-olor and the drow of Llurth Dreir both desire the Caves of Thunder.
