Imagine a valley surrounded by mist, with the sun’s rays barely visible beyond layers of murky clouds. Locals keep to themselves during the day and lock their doors at night, gripping holy symbols tight for protection against fearsome forces lurking in the fog. And standing atop a balcony stemming from the tallest castle in the land is a vampire draped in a dark cloak, staring out at his realm and ruminating on his cyclical existence.
