Skyreach Castle

Eons ago, cloud giants built this flying fortress to take their ancient battle against dragonkind into the skies. The spirit of a giant enables it to fly—this ancient bond dates back to the days when giants and dragons fought great wars. The binding kept dragons from taking these castles for their own, and the bond still holds centuries later.

Skyreach Castle is carved from ice so thick as to be opaque. The ice is as strong and impenetrable as granite, thanks to ancient cloud giant wizardry. Towers and walls surround an iceberg core was hollowed out to serve as the lair of a powerful white dragon allied with the Cult of the Dragon.

Giantish magic permeates the land. Sorcerers can update their spell list during an extended rest - 1 week per spell level. Time is half for spells that were developed in the Sorcerer's Sanctum.

Stronghold actions

Within Waylander Vale Lucy can use each of the below options once per extended rest. These take place on initiative count 20.  No option can be used twice. Usage is refreshed with an extended rest. 

1. You cast three spells from your list of prepared spells, using spell slots as normal.
2. For the next minute, all of your spells are heightened, as per heighten spell. You cannot use sorcery points to heighten an already heightened spell.
3. You are wreathed by a fire shield. Enemies who strike the shield take 4d8 damage instead of 2d8.

Class improvement

• Source of Magic - While you have unspent sorcery points, if you roll the maximum result on a spell’s damage die (including a rerolled die), you can reroll it and add the new roll to the original roll. You can do this once, after which you must take an extended rest to refresh this ability.
