Creatures officially sourced in Terrinoth Lore
Score: 286 | 8/27/19 |
Here you'll find some basic info on different creatures native to Terrinoth. This information represents what one with a little Monster Lore may know. More information is kept secret. This section will grow as the campaign does, but these are the most commonly known Terrinoth-specific creatures that are different from the normal D&D ones. In addition, as creatures are encountered in the campaign, they will be listed here. Once fought, info (like stats) that was previously secret, may instead be in the normal description going forward. Note that some already have this info, as they may be more common creatures to the populace at large.
A general note, undead are a little more powerful in this game world. Even a typical skeleton may be unexpectedly tougher depending on other factors. Waves of undead wreaked havoc during both the First Darkness and the Second Darkness and while only the longer lived races were alive then, all in Terrinoth are aware of the danger they pose.
Also, many of the monsters of Terrinoth have a "typical" version, and a "greater" or "master" version of the same. Usually, the greater versions are larger, and typically have some kind of identifying reddish feature that the normal versions do not possess.
They are prefixed here with MONSTER, MOUNT, or SENTIENT.
MONSTER - Monster intelligence, they kill and eat for the most part
MOUNT - Monster in the wild, but are capable of being somewhat tamed and trained as mounts. However, most civilized areas are NOT going to be OK with them being brought into a settlement.
RACE - Possible PC race choice. Most of these are either no extra points or at least not many extra points. They are still "rare" in the world, but wouldn't be chased out of town. Though nor would they just be ignored either.
SENTIENT - Monsters that are normal intelligence and capable of speech, but are rarely seen in cities, generally preferring to live in the wild.
UNIQUE - There is only one of this creature in the world (as far as anyone knows).
NOTE: DESCENT Conversion tab has Descent to 3.5 information. Character Sheet tab has Descent (or RuneWars, or Runebound, etc.) stats. Many monsters have a GENESYS Stats tab for that system as well. D&D Stats are currently "Secret".
Some GENESYS stat info from the Bestiary made by Archellus and Flobio, so acknowledgements to these folks. Those creatures still needing GENESYS stats are also in the folder for this. (mostly the Runebound sourced ones).
