Alchemist Thrugood

Alchemist Thrugood was renowned as a wise and gifted alchemist and apothecary as well as a botanist.  He made his name among the Scholars and earned the workshop thanks to his effort to breed a new plant that can help mitigate the nutritional deficiencies of the poor and sailors, Gricklecane.

He transformed his workroom from a comfortable suite of rooms to a variety of mini biomes for growing various plants.  He took the opportunity of the completely secured space to grow and experiment on plants that are forbidden by law in Behan, such as violet fungus and keep creatures and monsters like cockatrice, poisonous spiders and vine blights.

He lured a young fellow apothecary, Lynna, from Wild Harbour to his workrooms under the guise of collaborating and took her prisoner.  The only person who knew of these foul actions was his apprentice, Hilda.  While she did expose him by enlisting Indya, Robart, and the party to help she vanished immediately after they dealt with the violet fungus and the petrified bodies of Grovvard and Auldin were discovered. 

He was killed before he could finish the ritual to transfer Lynna's life force to himself and book he was using, the Tome of the Sporebinder, was taken by Indya to the library where it will be protected and studied under the supervision of the Seekers.
