Score 652
11/12/25Whiskerthrone Burrow is the sprawling, ancient capital city of the Ratfolk, situated deep within the Wendertara Forest. Once a secluded sanctuary, the city has been catastrophically transformed into the single, central headquarters for the tyrannical Rat King and the nexus for Misery’s plan to strike a decisive blow against the Honey Bees and Game.
City Setting and Clandestine Structure
The city’s architecture is a testament to the Ratfolk’s mastery of subterranean and natural engineering, now repurposed for military command.
- Setting: The city is a vast network of tunnels and burrows, seamlessly integrated into the riverbank and the surrounding Wendertara Forest. It relies on a large cluster of rivers that flow directly into the corrupted Junk Ocean.
- Key Infrastructure: The primary system is the Whispering Tunnels, the sprawling underground network that serves as the city's streets, homes, and covert supply lines. This network carries the psychic echo of the city’s populace.
- Original Purpose: The city was originally conceived as a safe haven for the Ratfolk community, designed for a sustainable life in harmony with nature.
The Eldvar's Defeat and the Oath of Skitter
The city's spiritual center was violently corrupted by a cosmic betrayal and the rise of the Rat King. The city's spiritual center was compromised when the Rat King used Game Breaking Meta Magic to forcibly relocate his new headquarters, a twisted version of the Feasting Inn, directly into the Throne District. This grotesque structure is now the stronghold for Rat King.
The Curse of the Tree Throne
- The Fallen Guardian: The former Guardian, Orodia Yellowtooth (Eldvar of Ratfolk), was slain by the Rat King in a duel. The Rat King then seized Orodia's Guardian Weapon, Whispersting and sat on the sacred Tree Throne.
- The Oath of Skitter: When the Throne denied the Rat King the status of the Eldvar of Ratkin, he enacted the Oath of Skitter, turning the Throne's protection against the city. This corrupted magic immediately bound 100,000 Citizens, unfortunately 75,000 citizens died rapidly turning them into Oathbound Undying Ratfolk. The remaining 25,000 citzens were living Oathbound to the Rat King. The curse also spread a deadly sickness, preventing any who enter the town from leaving.
Population and The Cost of War (2788 Status)
The Ratfolk population has been profoundly diminished and fractured by the Rat King’s tyranny, a high cost measured before the final siege.

The Strategic Conflict (The Final Siege Window)
Whiskerthrone Burrow is the ultimate Junior year objective, now poised for liberation by the forces of Hope. The Rat King, acting at the command of Misery, is marshalling a massive army of 25,000 Undying Ratfolk to march on Honey Brown University and Shell Guark. This mass exodus of troops severely weakens the security presence in the city. The fragmented resistance has united under Riff Quickpaw (a Breakvar), who was chosen as the head leader of the five key resistance factions. If the Honey Bees successfully repel the massive siege against their campus during the Summer Semester, they will join Riff's Rebellion for a final march on Whiskerthrone Burrow to slay the Rat King and permanently free the city.
Potential Plot Hooks:
- Slain Eldvar: Yellowtooth has been slain, his corpse returned from death and bound to the Rat King through his Guardian Weapon and the power of the Tree Throne.
- Unable to Leave: A magic prevents townsfolk from leaving the city, a horrible death awaits them should they attempt it. This has cowed many townsfolk to becoming followers of the Rat King in the hopes he will spare them.
- The Ratfolk Prophecy: An ancient prophecy foretells the return of a legendary Ratfolk hero who will lead the community to a new era of prosperity and power. They will sit on the Tree Throne and restore the balance of Meta to Ratfolk.
