"Now that we have had peace for 20 years under King Hal, and 13 years of peace and prosperity under the wise regency of Princess Artania, it seems that the bad old days of the Lich King, Queen Anne, the tyrant King Rufus, and the War of Succession are all but forgotten. Gordovia is now in a Rennaisance, with scholars, architects, artists and philosophers flocking to Avila as a bright cultural and intellectual center under the patronage of Princess Artania. I have heard that on the continent, they are comparing our Gordovian capital of Avila to the great Aquilan capital Boubon (I so much wish to visit it one day!), and that they are comparing Red King John University in Wycliff to the Great Caliphate of the Red Moon University and Library in Alejandra across the Sea in the Middle of the World. These are heady comparisons for a small kingdom like Gordovia that only mere decades ago was devasted by an undead invasion that nearly wiped out our entire living population!!!"
