Deep Egypt

Founded during the Fourth Dynasty during the reign of Sneferu, who believed they had found a direct path to the afterlife and spent considerable time, effort, and resources to pave the way for royals when they were ready to transition. Construction of pathways and staffing were kept secret from the population, but for nearly 100 years the Pharaohs diverted a steady stream of materials to this project. Unfortunately, when the Fourth Dynasty ended in civil war and famine, all records of the work were lost and the people living below were left to fend for themselves.  

Deep Egyptian culture is based on the Old Kingdom (2686-2181BC - 505 years) construction, religion, and beliefs intermingled with anachronisms that are hard to explain. Light is provided by countless glowing balls that float at the top of the cavern. They provide a light similar to a slightly cloudy day. 

Most Deep Egyptians have blue skin (in various shades from a "royal blue" to a "sky blue." A small percentage are either brown (8%) or black (12%).  

Deep Egypt is built within a massive cavern dominated by a wide river flowing into the river from the south and exiting to the north - matching but not mirroring the Nile, which gave credence to the ancient believe of a direct path to the afterlife.
