Mortinirious, a monstrous dragon of gold and red, awoke in 1709.  For three years the dragon plagued Sycharia either directly or indirectly, through famine and chaos, caused the death of 500,000 humans and demi-humans.  In 1112, the dragon retreated over the Sky Peaks and into the land of Tidestone and was seen no more. 

In recent years, the scholarship of the Exinates has revealed that the beast was neither dragon nor god, but an aspect of the hearts and minds of the Khaori Elves who gave their souls to imprison Grosh al' Dryn.  Pure arcane power melded to the wills of the Primal Gods using the
