A vast and diverse continent and home for 1 million humans and demi-humans

Sycharia is approximately 190 leagues to the east and west and 375 leagues to the north and south. A riding horse can travel around 15 leagues in a day. The continent is made up of seven distinct and separate regions: (Taken from A partial and incomplete history of Sycharia by Shrewd McShales)
The Tri-Barony of Tidestone: pop. 200,000 - an independent country on the southern tip of the continent ruled by Barons of the three areas of the regions, The Granite Hills (Dwarves and Half-Dwarves), The Oakwood (Half-Elves), and The Jagged Reach (Human). |
The Kellgud Mountain Range: pop. <50,000 - a nearly impassable region of mountains with elevations as high as 24,000 feet between Tidestone and the Kingdom of Sky Peaks. The mountains have a small population of tribes called the Innish and there are three ancient (some believe abandoned) monasteries that date to a time before the Gloom. |
Kingdom of Sky Peaks : pop. 200,000 - The third largest region in Sycharia. Just north of the Kellgud Mountains, it stretches from the Western Sea to the Eastern Sea separating the Northern Kingdom and the Deliverer Barrens from the mountain range. The country controls more than 75% of the iron and steel trade with the Northern Kingdom and the Tri-barony of Tidestone. |
Northern Kingdom: pop. 850,000 - The largest, most populated, and most powerful country in Sycharia stretches from its border with the Kingdom of Sky Peaks all the way to the Ischarlin Wilds in the North. It is made up of seven duchies: the Duchy of Clinaugh, the Duchy of Abernburh, the Duchy of Azure Loch, The Duchy of Parthenum, the Duchy of Hubnuic, and the Duchy of Chelsea-capital and home to the monarch of the Northern Kingdom). Each duchy owes fealty to the king but maintains their own treaties with the others. Within each duchy there are also barons over smaller land grants from the King or from the duke or duchess of the area. The navy of the Northern Kingdom is unparalleled. |
Deliverer Barrens: pop. <250,000 The second largest region in Sycharia. The people of the Deliverer Barrens do not maintain regular political contact with the other regions. It is rich in culture and heritage, but the difficult deserts and semi-arid landscape have smaller populations than the more temperate lands in the Northern Kingdom. There are two distinct people groups. The Çöl İnsanlar, the people of the desert and the Chángcǎo, the people of the plains. Although historians know these cultures existed before the Gloom, there is very little written history of the area that has been shared with the Glaskin Magisterium. |
The Spine Islands: pop. unknown - Although separated from the mainland by more than 400 nautical miles, the spine islands are a large archipelago that are considered part of the continental land mass. The mainland has a trading agreement with only two of the islands (Auatisin Island and Ederveign's Rest). The seas around the islands are controlled by competing pirate fleets the largest of which is the Grey Ax. Most of the population are from Sycharia although rumors persist of an island of gnomes and of intelligent grey orcs from the lands beyond the Western Sea. |
Ischarlin Wilds: pop. unknown - a vast uncivilized jungle in the north of the continent. This land is the legendary home of the elves who disappeared in the Gloom. Lord Vital McGillam and his companions from the Tri-Barony led an expedition into the wilds in 1991, but it has been more than four years since their mission began. They are presumed dead. |
