The Neverwinter Wood, once known as Llewyrrwood by the elves of Illefarn, is a dense and mystical forest located in the North of Faerun. This ancient woodland exudes an aura of magic, its towering trees and shadowed glades holding an air of timeless mystery.

The Neverwinter River cuts through the forest, its warm, bright waters contributing to the wood's unique ecosystem. Notable geographical features within the forest include Berun's Hill and the Crags, with the legendary Mount Hotenow at its heart. This volcanic peak not only shapes the landscape but also influences the region’s climate, contributing to the river's supernatural warmth.

The forest is rich with flora, including the abundant whitethistle shrubbery. While unassuming in appearance, this plant is infamous for its potent effects—consuming it can lead to severe gastrointestinal distress, a fact well-known to both locals and seasoned adventurers.

The Neverwinter Wood is also home to a dedicated circle of druids known as the Ring of Swords. These guardians tirelessly work to protect the forest, driving out dangerous intruders such as hobgoblins, gnolls, and bugbears. They also safeguard the forest’s ancient sites and sacred groves from treasure seekers and those who would exploit its hidden magic.

This combination of natural beauty, magical presence, and vigilant protection makes the Neverwinter Wood a place of both wonder and danger—a true symbol of the wild, untamed North.
