Sword Mountains

The Sword Mountains are an imposing range of peaks located in the Sword Coast North. Forming an arc-like shape, they lie northwest of Waterdeep and east of the treacherous Mere of Dead Men. Their western slopes descend gradually into rolling foothills that meet the shores of the Trackless Sea. It also contains the Icespire Peak, the tallest peak of the Sword Mountains.

Characterized by their steep, craggy terrain and snow-capped peaks, the Sword Mountains present a formidable natural barrier. The rugged landscape is notorious for being home to several tribes of orcs and goblinoids, who fiercely guard their territory. Travelers and adventurers passing through the region must remain vigilant, as these hostile inhabitants are known for ambushing the unprepared.

Despite the dangers, the foothills of the Sword Mountains are rich with valuable resources. Deposits of gold and platinum have drawn miners and prospectors eager to exploit these precious metals, further adding to the region's allure—and peril.
