Western Heartlands

This region stretches from the Sword Coast in the west to Cormyr and the Dragon Coast in the east, with Amn and the Cloud Peaks forming the southern border. This land is not a unified realm, but rather consists of a series of city-states, including Baldur's Gate, Berdusk, Beregost, Elturel, Evereska and Scornubel.

A fertile region with farms and orchards that supply many settlements.

  • Sword Coast:
The long stretch of open land along the Sea of Swords that is home to the influential power of Baldur's Gate and a few other smaller towns
  • Evereska:
An elven refuge along the edge of the Anauroch Desert, far from human cities.

Island Kingdoms

The myriad islands in the Sea of Swords and beyond are largely independent from one other, with varied cultures, ideological beliefs, and histories. While often culturally separate from one another, the people from these islands often share common ancestry and cultures with those from the mainland of Faerun.
