According to ancient myths, the World Tree was born during the Sundering of the Void, the cataclysmic battle between Velkrithar, the Great Dragon, and Nyxtherion, the Abyssal Maw. This sentient, tree-like structure spans all of existence, its vast roots anchoring the lower planes while its towering branches stretch into the celestial realms. The Material Plane, nestled within the heart of the tree's trunk, serves as the nexus through which all planes are connected. Each plane is represented as a shimmering leaf, fruit, or branch, reflecting its unique nature and role in the cosmos. The tree's eternal vitality is said to stem from Velkrithar's creative essence, while the scars of Nyxtherion’s chaos are visible in the gnarled roots and twisted branches that intertwine with the darker planes. This cosmology emphasizes the balance between creation and destruction, harmony and discord, as essential forces shaping the universe.
