Silvergate - is well known for its poverty, despite the growth of the town its home to a huge number of beggars, Parvaneh to motivate her slaves to work harder offered freedom if the produced certain amount.  Many do so but have nowhere to go.

The church of Vecna and the Church of the Raven queen often fight one another for wealth

The church of Vecna discovered a temple was hidden away on Ebreth and sacked it.  The church of the Raven Queen was lightly mining silver from a mine just outside of the swamp.  The Grand Priest of Vecna sent his ruthless favorite Parvaneh to secure the temple and the mine in May of 1225. 

She arrived and quickly took control over Silvergate, increasing the defenses and adding the local militia. 

She then marched on the temple, but found that gnoll tribes were scattered around the savannah.  After several brutal battles she used her power to subjugate the tribes.  This took a year, but she finally made it to the Mad Marsh that surrounds the temple.  It took her very little time to make it to the temple and kill the inhabitants.

She then secured the mine, but found it was hardly being utilized.  The same problem was presented to her that the Raven Queen priest had, man power she needs people to actually do the mining.  The Gnolls are to useful as a barrier around the temple to outsiders, and would not approach the marsh.  So who could be used as miners, well the gnolls told her there were elf and man settlements to the North.  Elves are of no value as miners so she gathered up a large force of gnolls and her guardsmen and marched on the human Duchy of Kell.  They managed to take many slaves and sate much of the gnolls blood lust. 

The humans from that attack helped expand her mind a great deal but she wanted much more so she turned to the Bugbear and Goblins of the Urn mountains to the south.  She sent the gnolls to raid the and take goblin slaves months.  This was very successful she managed to capture several hundred goblins.  But a warchief rose up amongst the Bugbear and they mounted several counter strikes that nearly wiped out her southern gnoll tribes. 

Today the Urn tribes and her gnolls avoid one another if possible but will do all in their power to kill the other on site.

Silvergate today has grown a great deal, with the silver the mine produces Parvaneh has become extremely wealthy as has her church.  Do has the church back home in Andalar. 

She spends half of her time at the temple trying to learn the secrets that were hidden there.  She has not had great success since most of the time here she has been distracted by the mine and the enemies. 

She has made enough money that she imports slaves to work her mine, much cheaper than raiding the small Kell Duchy or bloody as raiding the Urn.
