Welcome to the free version of Encounter Builder!
Encounter Builder is a D&D 5e specific tool for building combat encounters.
Instructions:
- To help calculate encounter deadliness, enter the number of PCs in the party and their total level above.
- Use the Monsters and Loot tabs at the left to build your encounter.
- The Monsters tab has a Select button. And the Select View has a filter button. Where you can filter by challenge rating, environment type, etc.
- Or you can search for the monster you want. Or roll randomly with the blue d20 button.
- The Loot tab has a Select button too. For selecting mundane and magical treasure. And a Gems and Art button for horde treasures.
- Selecting an entry in either the Monsters or Loot tab will show stats in the card below, unless restricted by licensing. But it will at least name the book and page number for you to look it up.
To save your encounters to our database, please check out Premium Encounter Builder.
Your encounters will then be accessible from any web-enabled device. Premium will also enable more features and is a great way to help support the site.
