The Gilded Market

What Ales You, Thistle Do Nicely, Tin Titans, The Philosophers Store, Neager & Schwartz, The Crimson Sash, The Book Nook, Curl Up And Dye, and many more stores litter the Gilded Market. The main floor is a terraced design, with a large opening in the center giving guests views of multiple floors at once. The main conveyance from each floor are wide staircases and ramps, but there are also landing pads for persons capable of flight and mechanical elevators. Some stores that require larger areas to display their wares, such as Malacai's Mini Mansions and Songbird Drilling, and such have multi-level stores with their own personal staircases. 

The market was run by the bard Mariabronne, a retired adventurer that took over from the previous owner and friend. Mariabronne increased the markets renown through his many contacts and influence, turning the already famous market into a wonder and attracting merchants from across the land. Within a few years, the Gilded Market was flush with new patrons and wares that vaulted Titanspire into the height of its popularity for tourism and the place to shop. 

On the night that Titanspire was attacked, Mariabronne took in as many refugees as the market could hold, barring the doors to weather the storm. What truly happened remains a mystery, but now the market is a ghost town, and no survivors ever came forward with the story. Several adventurers and fortune seekers have gone to explore and plunder from Titanspire, but none have returned. It is rumored the tower is now haunted, the defenses of the market are still active,  the decaying magic has made the place a deathtrap, or a dozen other stories of what became of the Gilded Market.
