Tidestone, or Hrayekia as is it called by the Half-Elves of Oakwood, was once the home of the Mt. Vylnilninir, or Worldfire in ancient dwarvish.  The active volcano made most of the area inhospitable except for the ancient dwarven kingdom of Ghimlinor.  It was here, legends tell, that the weapons of the gods were forged and the great spirits of the world, Nyrlin, Lithlothein, and Alba Brish lived and created all things.  More than 2000 years ago, the great volcano erupted and destroy the ancient kingdom and began the current age, Ash Fall.  The volcano left a crater which became the largest lake in Sycharia, Lake Nyrlin (essentially an inland sea).

The few remaining dwarves survived underground in the Granite Hills for more than 300 years.  However, by the year 100 AF, the Hrayek had restored life to the region, planting forests, grasslands, and the mighty magical Oakwood where trees have lived and grown to the height of over 500 feet.  When the Granite Hill Dwarves finally surfaced, they found their hills covered in lush forests.  They made quick use of the trees to begin to rebuild mighty cites of granite and wood.  The Hrayek felt their activities and lashed out violently.  Thus began the 600 years of war between their peoples.  Many thousands of half-elves and dwarves died during the wars.

In 964 AF, a group of nearly five hundred humans crashed on the shores of the Jagged Reach.  Twenty years later, the Hrayek and Granite Hill Dwarves finally forged The Great Peace on the fields of the Vale.  Over the course of the next 700 years, the three peoples lived separately and there were often horrible battles between the three groups.

In 1671 AF, the great dwarven Lady Grakinimore the Peacemaker fell in love with Carve McGillam of the town of Final Reach.  The two wrote the accords of Tidestone with Lleylorie, leader of the Hrayek.  Thus was formed the Tri-Barony of Tidestone.

Oakwook Half-Elves (Hrayek) Barony
Granite Hill Dwarves Barony
People of the Jagged Reach Barony

Through their combined efforts most of the population of Tidestone was saved during the attack of Mortinirious and the Burning.  The leaders of Tidestone were instrumental in the rebuilding of the Northern Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sky Peaks.  For three hundred years, the region grew and flourished under the cooperative leadership of the Barons.

In 2000 AF, a group of second sons fought to take control of the region and put to death most of the royal families during the Siblings War.  Since that time, Tidestone has become increasingly reclusive and the region is dark once more.
