Baerbjerg

Baerbjerg (bear-berg) is a mountainous region of the Kingdom of Sky Peaks loosely governed by the Bear Clans. The largest city in the region is Sverjin, the home of the current Jarl, Jarl King Jorg.  Sycharian bugbears, or the Natmand, are the most populous demi-human population and rule with an iron hand.  Their culture is rooted in military might and funded by the largest iron ore mining on the continent.  The Natmand control gold and silver mining in the ruins of the halls of the extinct dwarven kingdom of Ghimlinor.  Stretching from the great woodlands of the east to the coastal dunes, the Jarl ever seeks to expand the influence of his power into the Kellgud Mountain Range.  Although currently at peace with the Northern Kingdom, there are still border skirmishes with the Order of the Gauntlet.  Jarl King Jorg has sought a treaty with the Doheaga Religion in hopes of building trade agreements with the Sycharian Eastern Trade Alliance.  However, those plans were put on hold when the Great Sycharian War began.  Recently, Raven Clan forces have been seen battling onside with the Natmand against an ever-growing blight and hordes of undead.
