Emperor Golovis Goldshod

"The Second Emperor of Ortolius, the highest of the Argent Bloodline. The Aegis Terminum, and the mortal heir of Moradin."

At nearly 430 years of age, Golovis is among the oldest of his kind in the Underdark. Of course, he credits his age to the favor of Moradin, and a sign that he ought to remain in power. He has no living heirs, and the day of his death is eagerly awaited by the other Argent Lords, hungry to claim the title of Emperor for themselves and move the capitol to their own home.

The Emperor is rarely seen in public in recent decades, usually citing declining health as a reason for his absence. Rarely does not mean never, in fact, and he does, at least once a year, make a point to be seen by his citizens, reminding them that, yes, he is still alive; and yes, he is still very much in charge of them. A grand parade is his preferred method for this, with plenty of military posturing and shows of force, but all in honor of Moradin, of course.

He is a frail and paranoid little man whose fitness for office is likely behind him, but there exists no legal way to remove him from his position, so he remains in power, day after day.
