Synopsis

The year is 5003. After a trip Around Argones in 50 Days, the First Heroes take the Long Road to Sharn.  There, they meet Leftenant Commander Lambrose Baccus, leader and founder of the Baccus Group, and rescue him from the Baccus Boys Revenge Club.

After a Tenday of downtime Simon LeQuack and the rest of the Heroes commission the Carriage of Heroes with Wagon driver Hazel Hydrastream and head To the Book Depository!  On their way they remind everyone that This Time It's Personal.  Next Goose leads them on a Wild Goose Chase through uncharted swamps and jungles, following the path of a single piece of advice:  "Don't Be Shai."  They gain and lose several allies on the way, including Ignathio Searvantaze Manuel Ferdinand Santiago d'Ningle.

At Sea At Last, Shai Hulud and the Heroes of Liberty fend off the Crew of the Frigid Bitch and lead the Fleet of Heroes to a final confrontation with Prince Scar of Octopus, Inc.  After the defeat of her foe and the emergence of the Mark of Chaos, there is a "brief" 3-year Interlude before the Heroes start Working for the Man.

After a month or so, the freshly inspired Heroes of Sharn decide to enter A Dreadful Domain when they head north toward the dangers and mysteries of the Mournland.  With No Time to Lose, the Heroes join Team Cobalt and venture into A Mournful Land where they travel across several Changing Landscapes.

Upon their return, the Heroes find themselves involved in the Trial of the People vs. Lambrose Baccus.  After its resolution, they prepare for a trip to the Outer Space, resulting in A Space Oddity of unparalleled magnitude.  When Shai and Baccus say "I Think We Need Space," Amadea Veks remains on Lonn and gets replaced in the group by Goldfigure, the King of Space.  Together, the Heroes of Space travel through Wildspace and across the Astral Sea to several other Wildspace Systems, namely Doomspace and Xaryxspace.  As Part of the System they prevent catastrophe and save the day.

Finally returning to Lonn once more, the Heroes witness a Regime Change.

This loose sequel to the previous campaign takes place several millennia later. The adventuring continues on the world of Lonn on the Material Plane during what is now known as the Fifth Age.  Eventually, the Heroes travel to other Planets and even other Planes of existence across the infinite expanse of the Great Wheel, including, but not limited to, Dal Quor, the Shadowfell, the Astral Sea, and the Domains of Dread.

Uses the D&D 5e system and most (if not all) official, unofficial, and homebrew release content.

Legends of the Ridge — the Saga of the Various Heroes of the Third Age

  • First Event — Outset (1/1/1000)
  • Final Event — Epilogue (3/17/1004)

Synopsis

It is the year 1000.  A rag-tag group of adventurers teams up to save the small village of Puckett's Ridge from a Goblin attack, but they end up calling it home. Throughout their adventures, they come to be referred to as various iterations of "Heroes" (Heroes of the Ridge, Heroes of the Demonweb, New Heroes, Heroes of Hell, Heroes of the North, Heroes of Verdun, Heroes of the Verdant Realm, etc.). They make countless friends (and more than a few enemies) during their travels.  As their notoriety grows and evolves, so does the town.

These are not your typical Heroes of legend, as they are wrought with personal drama, tragic backstories, inconsistent attendance, and a little too much to drink.

Hilarity and tragedy ensue, but you can't spell "slaughter" without "laughter."

The story takes place on the world of Lonn on the Material Plane during the Third Age. Puckett's Ridge and most of the other major locations are on the continent of Argones (ar-GOH-ness); the Desert region of Haranem is located on the continent of Xendra; and Ixnay is the icy continent to the northeast, separated by the Ice Caves of Azinth.  Eventually the Heroes travel to other Planes across the infinite expanse of the Great Wheel, including, but not limited to, Acheron, Yggdrasil, the Outlands, Celestia, and several layers of the Abyss.

Uses the D&D 3.5 system and most, if not all, associated literature (SRD and otherwise).

NOTE:  This first campaign (3.5 edition) began in April 2016 and was played almost weekly until its conclusion on June 14, 2022.

P.S. - Shout out to a man whose name I cannot remember, for leaving the 3.5 Core Rulebooks behind when he moved out of my buddy's apartment.  Also thanks to Lance for saying, "Take 'em!  He ain't gonna use 'em."
